Storage Bag/containers For Freezing Food…?

I’m planning on making meals ahead of time and storing them in a months use. What kinds of storage bags/containers should I use?? Should I wrap them in foil first?? What about soups??
PS .. I do have a vacuum sealer system (foodsaver).
Thanks in advance!!

  1. Change for the Worse Says:

Store soups and other liquids in ziploc storage bags and lay them flat in the fleezer. it saves space. Other foods you can store in airtight containers or foil. Write the date to know when it was made.

i use my food saver all the time
the trick is to get the food really cold or freeze it for about an hour
then put it in the food saver bags
as you don’t want the liquid to come through
it will mess up your maching
pluse if it is in a block it really works well
you can use a bowl, any shape .freeze it.
hit the bottom of the bowl with hot water for about 30 seconds and it will pop out
    and walla
you can put it in the food saver bag
    seal it
and tuck it in the freezer………

I store soup in my tupperware containers but anything I need to cook in the oven I use miniture disposable aluminium trays with lids (can’t explain it properly, but they are really handy and can be frozen in meal sizes – ie I cook in bulk and then freeze to individual meals and just write whats in the tray on its lid)

they just had this whole thing on the news about plastic and storing and freezing..especially microwaving in it…they let off carbons that are hazardous….they were telling more about baby food…because it is causing neorological problems in baby’s…still should use the glass jars….and you can freeze in glass as well…say hello to corningware…your new best friend….
